Cold Ashton is a beautiful parish five miles north of Bath. Perched on the south-western edge of the Cotswold escarpment, the main part of the village has wonderful views down into the steep-sided St Catherine’s Valley. To the north, from the highest points, there are faraway glimpses of the Forest of Dean and even the topmost tips of the old Severn Crossing – whereas to the East you can see the Wiltshire Downs. The Parish is peaceful but not cut off. Two busy roads – the A46 and the A420 – cross the area – but drive carefully – we are often mentioned on traffic bulletins (the Cold Ashton roundabout can be congested).
