Parish Council Meetings (General information)

Under current Standing Orders the Parish Council administrative years run from Annual General Meetings to Annual General Meetings.  The AGM takes place in May and it is the moment that the Parish Council checks its financial probity (that we have used your tax money legally and appropriately).

We then run 6 “ordinary meetings” where we work through Parish Council Business.  In this area we record the dates of meetings past and meetings future.  We also post agenda for future meetings – and we record the minutes (or written record) of meetings that we have had.  All minutes are “draft” until they are confirmed at the meeting that follows the meetings for which they are the written record.  For AGM meetings the minutes for the May meeting are draft until the May AGM that follows.

As a Parish Council (and as the Clerk to the Council) I need to give you at least 3 working days notice for a meeting.  We can give you notice via any appropriate means – by the community What’sApp group or the Notice Board outside the Cold Ashton Parish Hall.  If you would like to be added to the community What’sApp group, send me (the parish clerk) and I will get the administrator to the group to add you.  Of course you can just walk by the Notice Board.
